Andalusian Arabic Pottery

Comparte

Spanish Andalusian pottery.

The ceramic production made in al-Andalus during the Muslim period and a short one after the conquest of the Kingdom of Granada is known by this name, in which Andalusian influences are still spotted. Their main appeal can be found in the elegant shapes of the vessels, in their glazing, in the tiles and in the use of enamels, due to their dry rope metallic reflections, typical of the Muslim Kingdom of Malaga and Granada; what indicates one of its most innovative qualities is the use of ceramics, amphorae, vessels, tiles, and mosaics as architectural use, unknown in the West at that time of the history.
